These are just too funny not to share..
I was at a small and informal 'working day' of our local sighthound
club called the NVOW.
I was running the adults, but of course, had the 'kids' along since
where I go, they go!
I asked if they thought they were old enough to do a 'baby run', and
they said sure...
So here are the world's youngest lure coursers... at least the
youngest I have ever let a pup try it out...
It was actually a hot day... Here is crazy Connor giving it his
all.
And now for the 'kill'
training.... get the bunny Connor!!

I'm not
sure those feet are in sync yet. Dolly...
Actually
we ran with her to show her what to do................ You get some
exercise yourself on those baby runs!
But she
figured out the 'kill' part just perfect!
And a
couple of the big kids. Rave in red doing lure coursing in the
inner field. This is the start. They have such power in those
rears!
Rave in
white, Liv in Red.. running oval around the outside of the course.
They used
real sheep skin for the bunny. Zara thought it was quite nice.
They end the races here in a sand pit usually so that the dogs
really can dive onto the bunny and not hurt their muzzle. Usually
they wear muzzles. But it was not required for this working day.
